Why a Timeline?
The walks in Jerusalem on this website are not intended to describe every historic building and overload you with facts, but rather an attempt to demonstrate the beauty and meaning of Jerusalem within the context of Jewish history. However, without a sense of the flow of Jewish history, historic buildings and historic events become a meaningless jumble. A brief summary of the history of Jerusalem is therefore provided below:
