Serious cyclists may find this trail short, tame and uninspiring, but its paved surface makes it ideal for a family bike ride. The trail is part of a project to encircle Jerusalem with a bicycle trail and when complete this will be a cyclist’s heaven. This is not a circular trail and you return the way you came.
Distance: 8¾ km there and back.
Difficulty: There is a slight slope up to Jerusalem. The path is suitable for thin-wheeled and hybrid bikes.
Beginning of trail: The bike trail begins at the Arazim Valley Park.
Directions: Enter into Waze "Emeq Ha’arazim".
The Arazim Valley is a tributary of the long Nahal Sorek that provides a natural entrance way from the coastal plain into the central mountain range and Jerusalem. The Arazim Valley Park is part of the Jerusalem Park system. You will see stone signs in the park that have interesting information on them about the valley. There are also games to play on. Shortly, you come to Telem Springs National Park on your left.

From the parking lot, you are at the beginning of the trailhead to Nachal Halilim - see "Nahal Halilim and Emeq Ha'arazim". It's about an 1½ hour hike there and back without breaks, but longer when examining the caves. At the top of Nachal Halilim is Mevaseret Zion.
